The Climate Rescue Accord began as climate policy talks between political parties. The resulting Accord working group committed to: pursue what was required to stop and reverse warming, build a suite of policy options that underpin the 3Rs: reduce, remove and repair, get other parties, independents and organisations on board. The Climate Rescue Accord working group will present on the 3Rs, work to date, next steps and ways to get involved.

Session Speakers

Mik Aidt

Mik is a journalist and radio host, co-director of Geelong Media. He is also co-founder of the Climate Emergency Declaration campaign and co-manages The Sustainable Hour podcast, one of Australia’s leading programs in its field focusing on the climate emergency and solutions. Mik is a member of the Climate Rescue Accord Working Group.

Dr Adam Cardalini

Adam is an environmental scientist working on questions related to ecology, conservation and society. In particular, Adam is interested in how concern for Animals informs environmental values and practice. Adam is also a co-founder of the Climate Rescue Accord and a member of its Working Group.

Antoinette Pitt

Antoinette is on the executive of the Australian Progressives Party. She is a recycling educator and the owner of Recycle Wise, an initiative to reduce plastic waste from healthcare. Antoinette has a background as a nurse and as a union representative for the Australian Nurses and Midwifery Federation. She is a member of the Climate Rescue Accord Working Group.

Rob Bakes

Rob is the convener of Vote Climate One and the architect of the Traffic Light Voting system. Rob has worked full time for over ten years as a climate activist on a range of projects including a thirty six day rolling hunger strike in Canberra to demand that the Federal Government declare an ecological and climate emergency. Rob is a member of the Climate Rescue Accord Working Group.

Bryony Edwards

Bryony campaigned for the world’s first climate emergency declaration in Darebin (Australia) and co-founded Council and Community Action in the Climate Emergency (CACE). Bryony is a co-founder of the Climate Rescue Accord and member of its Working Group.
