Smart, Sustainable, Delicious: Eating for You & the Planet

5:30pm to 7pm—Thu 20 Feb 2025

Narrm Ngarrgu Library

Free Event

Small, mindful changes can make a big difference. Discover practical ways to escape the industrial food trap, stretch your food budget, and embrace sustainable eating habits that benefit both you and the planet. From reducing food waste to sourcing seasonal, local, or home-grown ingredients, this talk will empower you to eat like the planet depends on it – because it does.

This session brings together passionate advocates for fair food systems and sustainable living:

  • Costa Georgiadis: Beloved host of ABC’s Gardening Australia and a champion for equitable and regenerative food practices.
  • Kerri Gill: Public health researcher at the University of Queensland, specializing in healthy and sustainable food systems.
  • Kirsty Bishop-Fox: Sustainability educator inspiring people to transform their approach to food, waste, and conscious living.

Together, they’ll explore practical ways to beat the “Costa” Living Crisis with sustainable eating. From smarter shopping and reducing waste to supporting local, seasonal produce.

Presented in collaboration with Zero Waste Victoria this talk will inspire you to rethink how you shop, cook, and eat — empowering you to save money, cut waste, and make every meal matter.
