This workshop is designed to be easy and lots of fun:

· a gentle pathway to beginning your very own art making

· a relaxing way to boost/maintain your creativity

· a doorway out of an art block

What do you mean by, “Sustainable Art?”

Also known as green art and eco-art, this practice is simply a creative way to make art. Artists try as much as possible to use things that are:

· Not needed any more

· On the ‘last sale day’

· Old or worn out

· Found or given to you

Why do artists use this method? And would this suit me?

Artists often test themselves to work in different ways (like only using sustainable supplies) in order to spike their creativity. Our brains are designed to come up with ideas IF CHALLENGED. So this practice is almost like a stepping stone to creating art, or creating new art. This works for all people making and creating. You can find more information here: Article on seeing like an artist

We will discover how to:

  1. Repurpose an old novel to create a handmade, artists’ sketchbook
  2. Create personal marks and text on collage papers
  3. Complete your very own, unique abstract journal spread, ready to photograph and frame
