The Kensington Stockyard Food Garden has been growing fruit, vegetables and herbs since 2018. Your invited to attend a Kokedama workshop with a twist.
Create your own work of art the Japanese word Kokedama means “moss ball”. It’s the process of surrounding a plant’s root system in a “mud cake”, then wrapping the ball in moss tied with string. The Kokedama can be displayed in a dish or suspended.
Explore how you can make these “moss balls” with upcycled materials with the beautiful backdrop of the historical Flem/Ken (Newmarket) Stockyards.
We will be exploring the use of materials found in our garden and wider community for you to create a Kokedama to take home.
