This 8 week course covers all the principles to start your own sustainable garden in your back yard or communal garden. We will cover soil health, composting, worm farms, raised garden beds, attracting beneficial bugs and insects to your garden, saving seeds, raising seedlings, companion planting, making sustainable seedling containers to use yourself or give as presents. Seed swapping opportunities and learning about growing local plants.
Participants will go home with plants they grew from seed and handout on topics talked about each week covered by the teacher.
They will also have opportunities to swap plants between the group and teacher as well as home grown samples brought in to share
Lastly how important becoming sustainable with food supply’s for your family and friends is for the environment.
