The resident artists at Shakespeare Grove Artist Studios will have an exhibition of their works which include repurposed materials and works that address our changing environment. The exhibition will be held in the gallery space at the Shakespeare Grove Artist studios located within VegOut Community Gardens in the heart of St Kilda. The artists will also welcome visitors into their studios to chat about their working processes and practices which span a wide range of different mediums and materials.
The event will commence in the morning to coincide with the busy VegOut Farmer’s Market next door where a wide variety of lovely fresh produce is available for purchase. There will be activities in the VegOut Community Gardens in front of the studios to attract a wider audience including free pop-up clothes racks; creative activities and interactive activities provided by the Port Phillip EcoCentre. Resident artist Carolyn Cardinet will install an immersive sculptural/soundscape experience for kids reimaging her work ‘Invasion 2025’. Four large sculptural works will also be in the Gardens as part of a larger Big Sculpture Trail exhibition.
