Who are we?
Climate Writers is a non-partisan grassroots community that empowers the average Australian to advocate for the environment and their local community.
After feeling powerless about government inaction on the bushfires and floods in 2019/2020, we created this community to create space for easy collective climate action.
It has grown through word-of-mouth to 130+ attendees, of which 75% had never written to a politician before. We’ve sent hundreds of letters, met with dozens of politicians and contributed to policy papers.
We want to raise the conversation about climate to a scale that is impossible for politicians to ignore. It starts with empowering events like these.
